Small Centerpiece, Big Style

Gone are the days of oversized flowers. These days brides are favoring smaller centerpieces. While the size has most certainly been scaled down, detail and creativity have not. Here's a few of my favorite new looks.

I hope you found some inspiration for your own centerpieces, have a beautiful wedding!

The Brunch Wedding

The brunch wedding is becoming more and more popular these days due to many things such as budget constraints (the earlier the reception typically means a lower price tag), and couples wanting to be unique and different.

Here are a few tips in order to make your early nuptials not only unique but also a hit with your guests!

#1 Shake it up- mimosas and bloody mary's are great brunch staples, but how about adding something different to the mix? A great idea would be to have a smoothie bar with a variety of different breakfast smoothies for guests to try. Got a lot of coffee lovers in your group? How about a coffee cart with your very own barista serving up delicious lattes and cappuccinos. For the more budget-concious bride a juice bar is always a great option.

#2 Have the right entertainment- An early reception is definitely not the place for a loud DJ playing top 40 hits. Do something more subdued and low key such as a jazz band or a solo guitar artist. For additional entertainment try adding an old fashioned photo booth, caricature artist, or having a round of croquet on the lawn.

#3 Serve traditional foods in a unique way- Breathe new life into classics. Why not serve pancakes in miniature form and put cinnamon rolls on sticks?

#4 Selecting the right color scheme- While it's most certainly not a must-do, soft colors tend to work better for early parties. Try sticking to muted and warm colors schemes such as yellow and white, peach and green, and blue and ivory.

#5 Add something personal-This goes for any wedding reception. The best way to make your wedding stand out from the crowd is to add at least a detail or two about who you are as a couple. If he proposed at the park, see if you can rent it for the big day, name the tables after meaningful places to you or your favorite activites that you like to do together, include the lyrics of your song on all of the stationery. It doesn't have to be big and elaborate sometimes the smallest details can have the biggest impact on your guests.

I hope you found at least one or two ideas to take away for your own brunch reception. Please feel free to share any ideas you may have as well.

Have a beautiful wedding!
